MONTANA’S #1 RANKED COURSE
Golf Like Nowhere Else
Golfers come to Wilderness Club for many reasons, but they return for the same one: there is no golf experience in Montana — and few in the American West — that combines a Faldo-designed, nationally ranked championship course with the privacy of a gated community, the wildness of direct adjacency to 2.2 million acres of national forest, and the family-centric amenities of a full-service resort.
Sir Nick Faldo
designed course
At Wilderness Club, Faldo’s design philosophy is expressed in the relationship between the golf course and the natural terrain.
Exquisite layout
& setting
The course uses the natural terrain to create elevation changes that are visually dramatic without being physically exhausting.
Ponderosa pine
lined fairways
The course’s most defining visual characteristic line the majority of the course’s playing corridors, creating natural boundaries that reward accuracy off the tee.
Wildlife on the Course
A round is immersed in the natural beauty of northwest Montana, where golfers regularly encounter white-tailed deer, bald eagles, sandhill cranes, wild turkeys, herons, and other native wildlife in their natural habitat—creating an unforgettable golf experience.
the Course’s Character
Signature waste bunkers and championship-caliber green complexes combine strategic shot values, striking visual character, and demanding approach play to create a course that rewards precision, thoughtful decision-making, and exceptional short-game skill.
THE DESIGNER
SIR NICK FALDO
Designed by Sir Nick Faldo, one of the most accomplished golfers in history and a six-time major champion, Wilderness Club reflects his philosophy that great golf rewards strategy, creativity and precision rather than power alone. Instead of imposing a course on the landscape, Faldo worked with Montana’s natural terrain, routing fairways through towering ponderosa pines, gentle elevation changes and native wetlands while preserving sweeping mountain views. Strategic waste bunkers, thoughtful risk-reward opportunities and nuanced green complexes challenge golfers to think their way around the course, creating a layout that is both visually stunning and endlessly playable for golfers of every skill level.

Practice facility & instruction
Train with Purpose
The Wilderness Club’s practice facilities are designed to help golfers get the most from every round. The full-length driving range features multiple target greens and is maintained to the same high standards as the course, providing realistic turf conditions for every club in the bag. A dedicated short game area includes a chipping green, practice bunkers and a spacious putting green that mirror the challenges found on the course, making it the ideal place to sharpen scoring skills before teeing off. PGA professionals are also available for private instruction, offering personalized coaching in every aspect of the game—from full swing and short game fundamentals to course management and on-course playing lessons.
Pro Shop, Dining & On-Course Services
Beyond the Fairways
The Wilderness Club experience extends well beyond the course. The fully stocked Golf Shop offers premium apparel, equipment, accessories and club rentals, ensuring members and guests are prepared for every round. After golf, the Wilderness Grille serves breakfast, lunch and dinner in a relaxed setting, with indoor and outdoor seating, a full bar and a menu inspired by Montana’s outdoor lifestyle. For added convenience, a beverage cart and on-course snack options keep golfers refreshed throughout their round, making it easy to spend an entire day enjoying everything the club has to offer.

What to expect
Playing the wilderness club
At The Wilderness Club, the golf course is rarely crowded — a round typically takes between 3.5 and 4.5 hours for a foursome. The club manages tee times to maintain appropriate spacing, and the course’s flowing design minimizes bottlenecks. For golfers accustomed to the slow rounds common at busy public courses, the pace at Wilderness Club is a notable part of the experience.
Championship-Level Course Conditions
The Wilderness Club is maintained to championship standards, with meticulously groomed fairways, consistent rough, fast and true greens, and expertly maintained bunkers. A dedicated commitment to course conditioning ensures every round delivers the quality and consistency expected from a nationally recognized golf destination.
Dressed for
the Course
The Wilderness Club maintains a traditional golf dress code appropriate to a nationally ranked private club. Collared shirts are required for all players. Denim is not permitted on the course. Soft spikes only on metal spike-free greens. The pro shop carries appropriate attire for guests who arrive unprepared. The dress code applies from the first tee through the 18th green and in the clubhouse.
Longer Seasons
for Montana Golf
The Wilderness Club enjoys one of Montana’s longer golf seasons, typically running from late May through mid-October. The club benefits from a favorable microclimate with comfortable summer temperatures, cool mornings and extended playing opportunities. With ideal conditions throughout the season, golfers can enjoy Montana golf at its finest while taking in the region’s stunning natural surroundings.
Course access options
Wilderness Club offers flexible golf access for members, resort guests and visiting players. Members enjoy unlimited golf and practice facility access throughout the season, along with priority tee time booking and a true private club experience. Resort guests can experience the championship course with advance reservations, while limited public play opportunities provide golfers the chance to enjoy one of Montana’s premier golf destinations without a membership commitment.
